Dans un désert américain, le long d’une route abandonnée, des voyageurs épuisés – deux hommes en fuite de leur passé, un groupe de rock au féminin en route vers son prochain concert, un homme perdu qui souhaite rentrer chez lui, un frère à la recherche d'une soeur depuis longtemps disparue et une famille en vacances – doivent affronter, au cours de cinq histoires cauchemardesques, leurs peurs les plus terribles et leurs plus sombres secrets.
