Room 237

En 1980, Stanley Kubrick signe Shining, qui deviendra un classique du cinéma d’horreur. À la fois admiré et vilipendé, le film est considéré tout autant comme une référence par de nombreux spécialistes du genre, que, par d’autres, comme le résultat d’un travail bâclé par un cinéaste de légende s’y fourvoyant totalement. Entre ces deux extrêmes, cohabitent les théories de fans acharnés, convaincus d’avoir décrypté les nombreux messages cachés du film. Ce documentaire entremêle faits et fiction, interviews de fans et d’experts défendant ces théories, et il propose une relecture du film Shining au travers d’un montage très personnel.
