Livre d'Eli, Le

Trente ans après l’ultime guerre, l’Amérique n’est plus qu’une terre désolée dont les villes sont des ruines et les routes autant de pièges infestés de bandes criminelles. Plus de civilisation, plus de lois.

Depuis des années, Eli voyage, seul. Guidé par sa foi, il lutte pour survivre, mais surtout pour protéger la lueur d’espoir qu’il transporte avec lui. Il est prêt à tout pour cela.

Dans ce monde d’apocalypse, un seul homme connaît le pouvoir que détient Eli, et il est prêt à tout pour s’en emparer : le redoutable Carnegie, maître d’une bande de voleurs et d’assassins. La très belle Solara, fille adoptive de Carnegie, est elle aussi attirée par Eli mais pour une autre raison : il est la preuve qu’autre chose existe au-delà du territoire de son père.

Pourtant, rien ni personne ne détournera Eli de son chemin. Il doit continuer, avancer et accomplir son destin pour sauver le futur en soufflant sur les braises d’une humanité qui n’attend que l’étincelle…
