The Capitol Celebrates District Heroes
With the next Hunger Games rapidly approaching, The Capitol has today issued a series of photographs that celebrate some of the lesser-known heroes of Panem's various districts (likely as an attempt to direct public support away from "The Girl on Fire," Katniss Everdeen). Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Julianne Moore, Michelle Forbes, Natalie Dormer, Stef Dawson, Evan Ross, Gwendoline Christie, Patina Miller, Wes Chatham, Elden Henson and Robert Knepper, "THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 1" is directed by Francis Lawrence and based on the novel by Suzanne Collins. It follows Katniss' (Lawrence) journey as she leads the districts of Panem in a rebellion against the tyrannical and corrupt Capitol. As the war that will determine the fate of Panem escalates, Katniss must decipher for herself who she can trust and what needs to be done, with everything she cares for in the balance.
"THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 1" opens November 21 and will be followed next year by "THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 2" on November 20, 2015.
District 3After shorting out, then quickly repairing District 3's mainframe at the age of nine, Fibre Bissette, 32, has proven her fearlessness in the face of any challenge.
District 4The proud daughter of a deep-sea fisherman and a sixth-generation pearl diver, Naida Dolan, 22, channels her legacy as she proudly holds the day's catch.
District 6Thought to have gasoline pumping through his veins, Malcolm Kastel, 31, is devoted to District 6's mission of keeping Panem moving.
District 7Elias Haan, 26, has kept the axe handed down to him by his great-grandfather as a reminder of the hardships he and his great District have overcome.
District 9After a day in the fields, Triti Lancaster, 17, graciously offers a bundle of wheat to her fellow citizens of Panem.
District 10Lily Elsington, 6, captures the spirit of the next generation of District citizens: ready, willing, and eager to fuel the Panem of tomorrow.
District 12Raised amongst the herd, Felix Stam, 35, possesses a quiet understanding of the ways of animals and the circle of life that unites us all.
Synopsis : Katniss Everdeen is in District 13 after she shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta and a nation moved by her courage.
